Stainless Steel 440C Sheets and Plates feature a high carbon content (0.95–1.20%) and elevated chromium levels (16–18%), along with trace amounts of manganese, silicon, and molybdenum. This unique composition results in exceptional hardness, high wear resistance, and impressive tensile strength after heat treatment. SS 440C also offers good corrosion resistance in mild environments and excellent dimensional stability under load. This material can achieve the highest hardness of all stainless steels—up to 60 HRC—while still maintaining strong compressive strength, making it perfect for precision components and high-stress applications.
